Our Vision for Indonesia's Education

An educational system where every stakeholder collaborates to ensure every learner has the equal opportunity to develop their full potential into a whole, well-rounded individual.

Our Mission and Role

We drive systemic change in Indonesian education from the ground up by building bridges and maximizing the impact of every stakeholder; supporting and serving as a bridge between various parties who previously operated independently, bringing them into alignment in their vision and purpose.

Our Approach to Reform

Radical yet Practical

We aim for meaningful change by testing the limits of what is possible while ensuring the feasibility of our recommendations, one step at a time.

Needs-based Tailoring

Institutions face unique challenges in achieving objectives, and while utilizing our extensive knowledge and experience, we offer contextual ideas that align with your specific needs.

Ecosystem Empowered

Our extensive network in education and other fields enables us to foster collaborative efforts that can lead to significant progress.

Education Reform is built upon years of experience and dedication

Legal establishment as a social enterprise

1 August 2025

Due to the numerous activities and collaborations conducted with various parties, Education Reform was legally established to be officially recognized by the state as a social enterprise under the name PT Reformasi Pendidikan Indonesia. This model was chosen by considering various operational needs as well as the main mission to realize positive systemic change.

Co-founders’ initial involvements in education

2019 - 2021

Starting with Eleazar taking the role as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Brawijaya and continued with various initiatives by each of the other co-founders during this period, interest and desire to contribute to the nation through education grew during this time.

Collaboration across a number of initiatives

2022 - 2024

The founders of Education Reform, who had previously known each other in limited capacities through other activities, began working together to create impact in the education world. This happened particularly in several organizations that are now part of the Youth Catalyst Foundation (Yayasan Katalis Pemuda Indonesia), namely StudentsCatalyst, FlashCampus, and Internnet.

Education Reform as a study group

May 2024

Having worked together extensively and finding a shared deep interest in education discussions and its policies, a WhatsApp group was created consisting of the co-founders and several other members. Within this group, various exchanges of ideas occurred that led to a mutual understanding that more effort was needed to connect stakeholders in the education sector at various levels, from grassroots to policy.

Publication of Education Reform’s first analysis

January 2025

After extensive discussions both internally and with various other parties from academic and practitioner circles, the founders of Education Reform and Devina Faustanisa (Independent Fellow) decided to conduct an in-depth analysis of one of the higher education topics that had sparked much debate: the government’s plan on eliminating the return requirement for LPDP scholarship recipients. The discourse created by this study also led to the implementation of the first Reformer Talk and Reformer Workshop.
